Digital services your charity can’t afford to get wrong.
Eight years on fostering, parenting support, schools and cancer support services taught me what charity work demands: people who may be at their lowest, sensitive information, small teams, and funders who want proof. I help you build for all of it.
- 8 years on UK charity services
- Consulting and contract work, or a longer engagement with your team
What I bring
-
Direction before spend.
Before money goes on a build, we agree the real problem, who it is for, and what success looks like for them and for your funders.
-
Safeguarding built in.
Who sees what, and what must never happen, enforced by the software rather than by someone remembering.
-
A service your team can run.
Whatever I lead has to be something your own people can run and improve once I step back.
Charity services I have worked on
-
A fostering profile platform for a UK children’s charity
Foster carers use this platform to introduce their home and family to a child before the child moves in. I was main developer and led its technical development as it grew from one charity’s fostering teams to other fostering services in England and Wales, in English and Welsh.

A parenting support chat platform built on Twilio Flex
Parents of children up to 19 can message a qualified coach for free, by webchat or WhatsApp. I was one of the developers who built and maintained the Twilio Flex platform behind it. In 2025/26, 3,984 parents had one-to-one coaching, and 99% of those who rated it called it good or amazing.

A computing education platform for UK schools
A computing charity runs free courses where young people design and build apps for problems they care about. I was main developer on its platform, then led the build of the new one: courses that any teacher can deliver well, and industry volunteers matched to classes. The programme reached 30,444 young people in 708 schools in 2024/25.

A breast cancer support app for life after treatment
A UK breast cancer charity’s app gave people living with and beyond primary breast cancer more than 300 short cards of trusted advice, shaped by women who had been through treatment. I worked on every part of it, from the app to the backend and content system, and kept it running until the charity closed it.
